As the first person ever to complete the Barbara Fox Internship, Roya Ramen is an integral part of the Enterprise Canada team. She is a multilingual professional with more than seven years of experience managing diverse teams and projects across various sectors. Fluent in Dari, Pashto, Urdu, English, and basic Turkish, Roya brings a wealth of expertise in communication, operations and project management to her role.
Roya recently completed her master’s degree in Immigration and Settlement Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she held a placement in the Afghan Women’s Organization, all while continuing to work at Enterprise Canada. She holds bachelor’s degrees in business administration and English Literature, providing her with a robust foundation in both business acumen and language proficiency.
In addition to her communications roles, Roya has held various managerial positions, including Operations Manager at the Afghanistan New Generation Organization, and Production Manager at Rumi Consultancy. Her international experience is further highlighted by her tenure as a Real Estate Consultant in Istanbul, Turkey.
Her unique combination of skills and operational excellence make her a valuable asset at Enterprise Canada.
Inside Experience
- Held previous roles serving as a Communications Manager at The Khaama Press News Agency, where she effectively coordinated media outreach and communication strategies.
- As the Communication Coordinator to the Minister Office at the State Ministry for Peace, Roya played a pivotal role in managing strategic communications during a critical period of governmental operations.
- She complements her communication and managerial skills as a translator and interpreter, allowing her to bridge cultural gaps in diverse professional settings.
