Enterprise Canada Welcomes Sarah McEvoy as Chief Operating Officer

Enterprise Canada is thrilled to announce the appointment of Sarah McEvoy as its new Chief Operating Officer. A trusted leader in strategic communications and public affairs, Sarah returns to Enterprise Canada with a stellar résumé in business and government.

Sarah started her career at Enterprise Canada in 1999. Since then, she has built an impressive career providing strategic counsel to senior leaders, C-suite executives, board directors and government decision-makers.

Most recently, Sarah led the federal government’s Ministers’ Regional Offices for Ontario, advising the Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers on stakeholder engagement and communications. Prior to that, she spent more than a decade at Edelman Canada, where she led the firm’s Corporate Communications group in Toronto, working with national and international teams to advance clients’ businesses and brands.

“Sarah is an exceptional leader with a sharp strategic mind, a deep understanding of strategic communications and public affairs, and a strong track record of delivering results,” said Barbara Fox, Enterprise Canada’s CEO. “She knows this business inside and out, and we’re thrilled to welcome her back in this new role.”

Sarah’s appointment comes at a time of continued growth for Enterprise Canada. With offices in Toronto, Ottawa, Hamilton, Edmonton, Calgary and Halifax, as well as teams in Quebec and British Columbia, the firm has evolved into a national leader in strategic communications, public affairs and digital strategy.  Enterprise Canada’s offering includes Creative Currency, its wholly owned advertising and content studio, selected by Adweek magazine as number one in its global list of the top-10 fastest growing agencies; the only Canadian agency on the list.

“Enterprise Canada has always been a place where smart, talented people come together to do great work,” McEvoy said. “I’m excited to be back, helping to lead a firm that has grown so much while staying true to what makes it special.”

McEvoy holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Economics from McGill University and is fluent in French. She is also active in her community, having served on not-for-profit boards in the education sector and as a volunteer with multiple charitable organizations.

“When Sarah left in 2005, I told her we would work together again, and I couldn’t be happier to see that promise finally come to fruition,” Fox concluded.
