Enterprise Canada Welcomes Emily Williams as Director, Strategic Communications

Toronto, ON – Enterprise Canada is thrilled to welcome Emily Williams as Director, Strategic Communications. A seasoned communications advisor and strategic problem-solver, Emily brings more than a decade of experience spanning senior roles in Canadian politics and private-sector public relations, helping leaders navigate complexity, manage risk, and communicate with clarity when it matters most.

Prior to joining Enterprise Canada, Emily served as National Communications Lead for Prime Minister Mark Carney during the Liberal leadership campaign and then as his Director of Media Relations in the Prime Minister’s Office. She also served as Director of Communications to Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs in the previous government, where she was relied upon to provide strategic counsel, drive long-term communications strategies, and manage Canada’s public response to both domestic and international crises. In these roles, she led complex media relations efforts, coordinated rapid response during fast-moving events, and helped shape public narratives on issues of national importance. 

Emily’s background also includes issues management roles within the Ontario government, as well as corporate communications consulting across multiple sectors.  

In her role at Enterprise Canada, Emily will advise clients through complex, high-stakes environments, helping them shape strategy, manage risk, and lead with clarity. 

Emily holds a Bachelor of Science, Life Sciences from Queen’s University and is based in Toronto.
