Enterprise Canada Starts Action for Defamation Against Freedom Corp Lawyer Brendan Miller
TORONTO, ON – Enterprise Canada and Brian Fox have issued a statement of claim for defamation against Brendan Miller, the lawyer who represented Freedom Corp. at the Public Order Emergency Commission (POEC) last November.
The statement of claim, issued on December 20, 2022 at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Toronto, starts an action for the widespread dissemination of false and malicious statements by Mr. Miller.
Mr. Miller’s claims that Mr. Fox and Enterprise Canada were involved in any way in the “Freedom Convoy” protests in Ottawa are patently false, deeply offensive and damaging to the reputation of both Mr. Fox and Enterprise Canada.
Brian Fox has not been in Ottawa since 2019 and was 500 kilometers away in Toronto on January 29, 2022, the day Mr. Miller claimed he was in Ottawa.
Mr. Fox and everyone at Enterprise Canada stand firmly against the hatred represented by the symbol Mr. Miller referenced.
As was made clear in the November 21 statement by Enterprise Canada, every legal avenue will be pursued to protect and defend the personal and professional reputation of Mr. Fox and the good standing of Enterprise Canada.
