Enterprise strengthens western Canada presence

Enterprise is strengthening its national reach with the official opening of its western Canada office on the heels of Alberta’s 2019 provincial election.

Led by Erika Barootes, the first elected President of the United Conservative Party, and Peter Csillag, long-time advisor to the newly elected Premier Jason Kenney, the Edmonton-based office will provide an enhanced level of expertise and on-the-ground support, building on the firm’s long history in Alberta and western Canada.

“Erika and Peter have a deep understanding of local issues and governments,” says Enterprise President Jason Lietaer. “Their institutional knowledge and strong relationships will be a game-changer for our business in the west.”

Since joining the team in May, Barootes and Csillag have hit the ground running in Alberta during an unprecedented summer session.

“The new government passed 13 bills focussed on jobs, economy, and red tape reduction, and there’s no sign of slowing down,” says Barootes, Vice President of Western Canada. “We have a great opportunity to help clients navigate the direction the government is headed and help them build lasting relationships in Alberta and throughout the western provinces.”

Barootes, who was elected to the role of President at the party’s founding AGM in May 2018, brings 15 years of government and political experience to the team. A Saskatchewan native, she understands the prairie provinces and the important work that’s needed across the country to support market access and economic prosperity.

Csillag joins Enterprise as Director of Public Affairs and Campaigns, coming out of his role as Director of Issues Management for the United Conservative Caucus in the Alberta Legislature. His decade of political experience also includes positions as a rapid response advisor in the UCP war room for the successful 2019 campaign, and in federal ministerial offices in Ottawa and the British Columbia Legislature.

With the addition of the Alberta office, Enterprise clients will benefit from unprecedented access and bandwidth support from a growing team of more than 40 consultants, strategists and in-house creative staff across the country.
