With 25 years of experience in politics and in public affairs roles across Canada, Will brings an unparalleled depth of expertise and leadership to the Enterprise Canada and Creative Currency teams and is ready to deliver impactful and innovative strategies for our clients.
“I’m very excited to welcome Will to Enterprise Canada as our new Senior Vice President,” said, Barbara Fox CEO of Enterprise Canada. “I’ve had the pleasure to work with Will when we partnered at Ensight Canada and I know first-hand the depth of his strategic vision and dedication to excellence in public affairs that makes him an invaluable addition to our team and incredible resource for our clients.”
Will spent the early part of his career working inside government as Chief of Staff to the Honourable John Baird through a series of portfolios, including both social and economic policy Ministries as well as time in Legislative postings. Post politics, he served in a number of leadership roles in some of Canada’s biggest public affairs firms and held executive positions in Canadian start-ups, including Senior Vice President at Harvest One, an international cannabis house of brands in the health and wellness space, and a leadership role at Hiku, the company behind the Tokyo Smoke brand.
Will also brings with him a tremendous amount of experience across a number of sectors including energy, where he has worked on campaigns to site new powerplants and pipelines, dealt with all aspects of nuclear energy from generation, to refurbishment, to isotopes, and waste in both traditional and SMR reactors. Will understands the nuances of electricity consumers across the country having conducted hundreds of focus groups, polling, and developed products for customer satisfaction and leadership capital campaigns. His understanding of Canadian electricity policy makes him a sought-after speaker on the politics of energy.
In his new role, Will will be focused on leveraging the connection between Enterprise Canada and Creative Currency to bring together impactful and informed public relations and public affairs strategy, with marketing, advertising and cutting-edge creative that’s needed by corporations, not for profits and governments across this country to face their biggest challenges.
“Will embodies the campaign mindset we live at Enterprise Canada,” said Jason Lietaer, President Enterprise Canada. “There is no limit to what he can achieve now that he has the backing of a powerful creative and content studio to properly execute his vision of impactful integrated public affairs and communications campaigns that our clients need in this new world where politics informs everything.”
Will’s influence extends to the public sector, where he has contributed to several boards and advisory groups including the Advertising Review Board of Ontario, Lift (Lift.co), Young People’s Theatre in Toronto, and currently the Women’s Brain Health Initiative. He’s also been recognized with numerous accolades, including being named to the Hill Times’ Top 100 Lobbyists for seven consecutive years and receiving the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.
