Enterprise Canada Welcomes Olivia Akena as Public Affairs Consultant 

Enterprise Canada is proud to announce Olivia Akena as a new Public Affairs Consultant on the Government Relations team in Toronto, following a successful internship. Olivia brings with her valuable expertise in international development, law, and politics, adding a unique perspective to the Government Relations team’s work on Parliament Hill and across Canada.  

“As a former Enterprise Canada Government Relations intern, Olivia has more than proven her ability to deliver for our team and clients – from bringing fresh ideas to the table to participating in Lobby Days,” said Jonathan Sampson, National Vice President, Government Relations. “We’re thrilled to have her with the team permanently and look forward to leveraging her expertise to drive impactful outcomes in the ever-evolving landscape of Canadian politics.” 

Olivia began her career in the office of Peter Julian, Member of Parliament and NDP House Leader, on Parliament Hill while simultaneously completing a degree in international development and law from the University of Ottawa. Over this time, Olivia gained extensive knowledge of Canadian politics and legislative affairs and honed skills in constituent communication, legislative support, event planning, and policy. 

Over her internship with Enterprise Canada, she refined these skills and quickly became an invaluable member of the government relations.  

In this new role, she will continue to help the government relations team provide clients with unparalleled insights and strategies in navigating the complexities of public affairs and government relations.
