Enterprise Canada Welcomes Farees Nathoo as Vice-President, Strategy and Risk
Enterprise Canada is thrilled to welcome Farees Nathoo as Vice-President, Strategy and Risk to our growing National Public Affairs team in Ottawa. Farees brings extensive experience in public affairs, strategic communications, and crisis management, which he honed over a decade in Canadian politics and campaigns. He most recently served as one of the Trudeau government’s senior legislative strategists and crisis managers.
“I’m very proud to welcome Farees to the Enterprise Canada team,” said Jason Lietaer, President of Enterprise Canada. “Farees understands what it takes to secure political and legislative wins when it matters most, and his experience and insights from leading high-stakes files across government makes him an invaluable addition to our team and a critical resource for our clients.”
Prior to joining Enterprise, Farees served as Director of Issues Management and Parliamentary Affairs to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Chrystia Freeland. In that role, he was intimately involved in the budget-making process, led government-wide crisis management responses, and oversaw more than ten multi-billion dollar legislative campaigns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, war in Ukraine, NAFTA, and more.
Prior to his political career, Farees worked with the Aga Khan Foundation in Ottawa and Egypt to build and deliver a communications strategy in support of an ambitious program expansion.
In his new role, Farees is looking forward to helping clients across Canada navigate the decision-making of senior government leaders and help clients respond to sensitive and rapidly evolving reputational challenges.
Reach out to Farees and say hello here.
