Enterprise Canada Welcomes Back Michael Dodsworth as Senior Consultant

After five years serving in Ontario’s Ford Government, Enterprise Canada is thrilled to welcome back communications and public affairs professional Michael Dodsworth as Senior Consultant, Government Relations. 

“Michael is one of those people who was hard to say goodbye to at the time, but we understood his desire for professional growth and to serve Ontario from within the government,” said Jason Lietaer, President of Enterprise Canada. “We are thrilled to welcome him back to the team with a fresh perspective and a deep expertise in the energy sector that will help us take on any challenge our clients present to us.” 

Michael started his career with Enterprise Canada in 2018 as a member of the Public Affairs team where he proved himself as a skilled communicator and issues management strategist, supporting the team to deliver winning strategies.  

Michael then spent five years working across ministries in the Ontario government, most recently as Director of Issues Management and Press Secretary for Minister of Energy Todd Smith.  

Michael’s experience in Ontario’s energy sector allowed him to provide critical guidance that helped deliver some of the government’s signature energy policies, including the release of the Powering Ontario’s Growth report, announcing the first grid-scale Small Modular Reactor in the G7 and moving towards the refurbishment of Pickering Nuclear Generating Station. 

In his new role, Michael will leverage his political, communications, issues management and energy sector expertise to provide thoughtful advice and build robust public affairs campaigns that resonate with decision makers.
