David Tarrant Joins Enterprise as Vice President, National Strategic Communications

TORONTO, ONT. — Enterprise, one of Canada’s leading national strategic communications firms, is pleased to welcome David Tarrant as its new Vice President, National Strategic Communications.

Tarrant joins Enterprise from his previous role as Executive Director of Strategic Communications in the Office of Ontario Premier Doug Ford. David has previously served in senior and central strategic communications roles on Bay Street, in the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada and the Nova Scotia Premier’s Office.

As Vice President, National Strategic Communications, David will apply his expertise in public and private sector planning, branding, high-leverage communications, and narrative development to help Enterprise clients deliver clear and effective strategic communication campaigns.

David Tarrant

As Executive Director of Strategic Communications in the Office of Ontario Premier Doug Ford, David was responsible for all Government of Ontario advertising, branding and public opinion research activities, oversaw the government wide-strategic calendar and led the development of the government’s strategic narrative which included serving as communications lead for the 2018 Ontario Fall Economic Statement and 2019 Ontario Budget. David previously worked on Premier Ford’s 2018 election team during which time he headed up the campaign scripting office and co-wrote the 2018 Ontario PC Platform.

As Director of Strategic Communications for BMO Financial Group, David served on the confidential working group responsible for overseeing communications surrounding BMO’s 2017 CEO succession. Following that process David directly supported BMO CEO Darryl White’s communications. While at BMO David also directly worked on BMO’s 2015 enterprise-wide rebranding and led the corporate communications for c-suite executives responsible for BMO’s Risk, Anti-Money Laundering / Anti-Terrorist Financing, Legal and Compliance activities.

As Communications Strategist in the Office of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, David managed scripting activities and collateral development for Prime Ministerial events while also overseeing all communications activities from the Department of Natural Resources, Department of Fisheries and Oceans and Department of Agriculture and Agri-Foods. While in Ottawa David also worked as the Director of Research and Communications in the Conservative Resource Group and served in the War Room for the Conservative Party of Canada’s 2008 Election Campaign.

As Senior Speechwriter and Communications Advisor to Nova Scotia Premier John Hamm David worked directly with the Premier on all major announcements and policy addresses, including serving as lead writer on 2003 Nova Scotia PC election campaign. David also served on the Nova Scotia Government’s senior communications working group.

David has also worked as Senior Speechwriter to John Tory during his tenure as Ontario Leader of the Opposition and Director of Strategic Communications to Tim Hudak during his time in the same role. He has worked as an election readiness organizer in Newfoundland and Labrador and Alberta and his political experience includes serving on the central campaign team in seven federal and provincial elections.
