COVID-19 Update for May 14, 2020 – 3:00pm

Today, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced the much-anticipated details of the next stage of reopening Ontario’s economy.

Ford said that beginning on Tuesday, May 19 at 12:01 a.m., the province will enter Stage 1 of the three-stage reopening plan.

In advance of this milestone, a number of businesses and services will be back online this Saturday in time for the Victoria Day long weekend.

The Premier cautioned that “businesses should open only if they’re ready” and that health and safety remains the top priority. Ford said businesses will have to follow strict distancing guidelines and the government is “ready to react” if it sees a sudden increase in cases.
