COVID-19 Update for July 6, 2020 – 1:45pm

Stage 2 Reopening

In his regular COVID-19 update today, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced that Leamington and Kingsville will be able to move into Stage 2 of the province’s reopening plan as of 12:01am on July 7. He said that he is confident these regions are ready to move to Stage 2 because outbreaks have been contained, community transmission is low and resources are available for contact tracing and testing.

Infrastructure Spending

In other news, Premier Ford was joined by Minister of Transportation Caroline Mulroney and Kinga Surma, Associate Minister of Transportation (GTA), to announce that the Ontario government will spend more than $2.6 billion on highway construction projects this year. More details can be found here.
