COVID-19 Update for July 3, 2020 – 1:55pm

In his daily briefing, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced free online workplace health and safety training.

Health and Safety Training

Calling it “good for business confidence and good for consumer confidence,” Premier Ford announced that the province will be offering free, virtual health and safety training through Employment Ontario. Up to 100,000 job seekers and workers will be able to take the virtual courses, learning the essential skills they need while practicing physical distancing.

Labour, Training and Skills Development Minister Monte McNaughton noted that the $3 million investment will provide training on topics such as infection control and conducting incident investigations. Those interested can visit ontario.ca/employment or contact Employment Ontario services in their area to enroll.
