Office Bookkeeper

Enterprise Canada is looking for an Office Bookkeeper with 5+ years’ experience to support the financial backbone of our firm. This role ensures the company’s financial records are accurate, organized, and ready for decision‑making. The ideal candidate thrives in a creative environment, is comfortable juggling multiple deadlines, and brings a proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset to both routine and unexpected tasks.

  • Daily financial management — Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Client billing and project support — Prepare client invoices, track billable hours/expenses, reconcile project budgets, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
  • Vendor and contractor payments — Process vendor invoices, manage payment schedules, and ensure proper documentation for freelancers and subcontractors.
  • Month‑end and year‑end preparation — Reconcile accounts, prepare financial summaries, and support external accountants with required documentation.
  • Expense and credit card management — Track agency expenses, categorize transactions, and ensure compliance with internal policies.
  • Operational support — Contribute to office administration tasks such as maintaining financial files, supporting procurement, and assisting with internal process improvements.
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accounting coordinator, ideally within a professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards, including HST and payroll basics.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (or similar accounting software) and strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational discipline.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑moving, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working with confidential financial information.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with agency workflows such as project budgeting, retainers, and time‑tracking systems.
  • Experience working with creative teams, and cross‑functional project leads.
  • Comfort supporting operational initiatives such as vendor sourcing, internal reporting, or process documentation.
