1. About this policy
Enterprise Canada Inc. (“Enterprise Canada,” “we,” “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information through enterprisecanada.com, our newsletters, business inquiries and recruitment activities.
Personal information means information about an identifiable individual, as defined by applicable privacy law.
Client campaigns, surveys, consultations and other projects may have separate privacy notices explaining their particular information practices. Where we handle information on behalf of a client, applicable client notices and our contractual obligations also govern that handling.

Please provide only information relevant to your interaction with us. Avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information or information about others unless you are authorized to provide it.
Our website and third-party technologies also collect technical and usage information, which can include IP addresses, browser and device characteristics, cookie identifiers, pages visited, referring pages, interactions and timestamps.

We limit our collection and handling of personal information to what is reasonably necessary for the purposes identified and permitted by applicable law.
4. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our website uses cookies, pixels, scripts and similar technologies. Cookies are small files stored on your device. These technologies can recognize a browser, remember information and record interactions.
The website includes:
- Google Analytics, which collects information about website visits and interactions to help measure and understand website use.
- Meta Pixel, which supports advertising measurement and audience-related features.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag, which supports advertising measurement and audience-related features.
- Google reCAPTCHA, which helps protect forms against automated abuse.

Analytics and advertising technologies currently load when you visit the website. They may transmit identifiers and technical or interaction information to their providers. Providers may associate this information with other information they hold, including information associated with an account you maintain with them, depending on their practices and your settings.
You can manage cookies through your browser and advertising preferences through the relevant platforms. Browser settings may not control every tracking technology, and blocking cookies does not necessarily prevent all information collection. Some website features may be affected.
For information about provider practices and available choices, see Google’s Privacy Policy, Meta’s Privacy Policy, LinkedIn’s Privacy Policy and Brevo’s Privacy Policy.
5. Consent and communications
We obtain consent where required by applicable law. The appropriate form of consent depends on the information, the purpose and the circumstances. Where express consent is required, we seek it.
You may withdraw consent by contacting privacy@enterprisecanada.com, subject to applicable legal or contractual restrictions. We will explain any restrictions and the consequences of withdrawal. Withdrawal applies to future handling and may affect our ability to provide something that depends on the information.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in a message or by contacting us. We process unsubscribe requests without delay and no later than 10 business days after receiving them.
We may retain limited information to respect your unsubscribe choice. Unsubscribing does not prevent responses to inquiries you initiate or necessary administrative communications permitted by law.
Where applicable law permits or requires handling personal information without consent, we do so within the conditions of that law.
6. When we disclose information
We disclose personal information for identified purposes and as permitted by applicable law, including:

- In connection with a proposed or completed business transaction, where legally permitted and subject to applicable confidentiality and use restrictions.
Information transferred to service providers on our behalf remains subject to our applicable privacy responsibilities. Some third-party providers also handle information for their own purposes under their privacy policies.
7. Processing outside your province or Canada
Our service providers may store or access personal information outside your province or Canada, including outside Québec.
Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to its laws and lawful access by courts, law enforcement or other authorities. We apply the assessments, agreements and protections required by applicable law when arranging such processing.

8. Retention and security
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and applicable legal, contractual and recordkeeping requirements.
Relevant factors include the nature of the information, our relationship with you, subscription choices, recruitment needs, applicable limitation periods and requirements to preserve records for disputes or investigations. Withdrawal of consent or an unsubscribe request does not necessarily require the immediate removal of records we must lawfully retain.
When information is no longer required, we arrange for its secure disposal or anonymization in accordance with applicable law.
We take reasonable measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration and loss, taking account of its sensitivity and the risks involved. No transmission or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
We address privacy incidents and provide notifications to individuals and regulators where required by applicable law.

- Access to personal information we hold about you and information about its use and disclosure.
- Correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.

- Deletion or a portable copy of eligible information where the law provides those rights.
- Information about our privacy practices or consideration of a complaint.
